KEVIN MISQUITH CONCERT IN KUWAIT:
A REVIEW BY OSWALD FERNANDES.
Kevin Misquith entertained an over crowded & Jam packed venue in Kuwait on the 14th Sept 2018. One of the rare occasions with an open air Konkani music concerts in the middle east. With record number of people packed at the Indian Central school Abbasiya, many were seen standing on the sides & at the back. Surely, it was historic.
The show was organized by AKFK. Cheers to the organizers for controlling the huge crowd & organizing things meticulously. The organizers did a good job to keep the formal program short without any long speeches.
Kevin Misquith, Acclaimed as one of the best among konkani singers of today’s generation lived up to people’s expectations as a sensational performer. Morvine Quadras along with the rest of the team excelled in the show with super-excellent performance.
Dony Correa kept the audience at their toe with his mesmerizing talking skills. Some of my observations on the critical side of evaluation are,
The delay in beginning the show should have been avoided. It lead to the program going beyond the scheduled time making it difficult for the people as it was an open air event. The musical evening could have been coupled with some comedy or skits. The local amateur singers from Kuwait could have been a little better in their act, nevertheless it was a great opportunity for new singers.
The mash up & tribute sessions were unique making the show to stand out from the rest of the konani shows. However the tribute session should have included few more legends who were not remembered.
All in all it was a memorable show. Undoubtedly one among the best in Kuwait.
